Unilever, one of the world’s largest producer of consumer goods, continues with its use of Visicom SFA for the management of its mobile business processes.

Visicom, a global provider of mobile software solutions for workforce automation, today announced the successful upgrade, to version 3.9, of its Visicom SFA solution at Unilever. The Upgrade was carried out simultaneously with the change of Unilever’s mobile devices platform from Windows Mobile to Android. The collaboration of Visicom and Unilever, started in 2001, when Unilever chose the Visicom SFA solution to optimize its business processes in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, enabling the company to better manage sales, order taking and new product launches, and also provide office-based management with access to real-time data from the field.

In August 2012, after many years of successful results, Unilever decided to deploy a new version of the Visicom SFA solution to take advantage of new functionality. One of them being, the possibility of collecting photos through the SFA system while doing surveys. Visicom SFA version 3.9 provides the ability to easily sort and filter photos by using new tool — Photoviewer.

Upgrade to version 3.9 began with several weeks of testing period. During this time users evaluated all of its features, while testing the reliability of the new Android mobile platform. The field testing was carried out on three different types of tablets and smartphones. Unilever eventually decided to deploy Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablets.

Upgrade began in August 2012. Full production was launched in Slovakia, in early September 2012, and a month later in the Czech Republic. Unilever expects significant benefits in improved sales force efficiency, and obtain high-quality data which will be used for key business decisions. The project was carried out in the Corporate Division and will continue in other divisions of Unilever in 2013.
