New Suppliers Invited to Dollar General Virtual Event

Dollar General wants to expand the diversity of its product offerings, and it’s holding a virtual event that gives new suppliers a chance to meet with merchandise buyers and category managers.

The 2020 Supplier and Diversity Innovation Summit, to be held Sept. 16, is open to companies holding a variety of diversity certifications that have not sold products to Dollar General within the past 18 months.

The retailer, which is No. 16 on the Top 100 Retailers list, is teaming with Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing (ECRM) for the event.

Products must fall under the beauty, personal care, over-the-counter/wellness, general merchandise or grocery categories. The diversity certifications include:

  • Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
  • Women Owned Small Business (WOSB)
  • Ethnic Minority Owned- NMSDC Certified
  • State Certified Minority Owned
  • Veteran Owned- NaVOBA
  • Service-Disabled Veteran Owned- VA Confirmed
  • Disability- Owned Business Enterprise (DOBE) Certification
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise- Government Certified
  • Small Disadvantaged Business- Government Certified
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual or Transgender Owned- NGLCC Certified
  • Small Business Certified- SBA(8)A Certified
  • WBENC Certified

To apply, interested suppliers, companies and manufacturers may submit their product information at www.rangeme.com/dgsupplierdiversity from July 22 through Aug. 7. Selected companies are expected to be notified via email by ECRM of the time of their virtual meeting with a member of the Dollar General merchandising team.

Dollar General operate 16,500 stores in 46 states, and it’s committed to opening more stores this year despite the challenged retail landscape.
